How we hold the space
We built the room we kept looking for.
We hold this space with softness and intention, creating a week where South Asian women can slow down, breathe, and be fully seen. Exploring topics you have long set aside. Our conversations rise from rest, from warmth, from the quiet honesty that emerges when a room moves slowly and no one is performing.
We move through questions that offer deep exploration:
Where have you been asked to shrink, in family, in culture, in the roles you never chose but learn to carry?
What stories of belonging shaped you, and which ones still define how you move through the world?
What part of your identity is waiting to take up space, the part you muted, softened, or set aside to keep the peace?
These questions will guide our circle — at the table, in the courtyard, during slow mornings and unhurried afternoons.
Our approach is simple: rest first, truth next, joy always. We follow curiosity, lived experience, and the wisdom that surfaces when women gather with spaciousness and care.

Our retreat space
What we love about Kapaali
Suhani and Mansi are sisters, and House of Kapaali is theirs. They built it around the same things we built this retreat around: wellness, self-reflection, and the journey inward. We met them, met their family, and shared food they made for us. They are our partners in this as much as our hosts, and we cannot wait for you to meet them.
Who we are

Reclaim From Within was co-founded by Catherine Kannam and Neha Patel, and grew out of a friendship and a shared sense of purpose. We have loved, laughed, grieved and grown alongside one another through the pressures of family, work, identity and leadership. Across years of conversation, care and community, we discovered that each of us had been doing parallel work.
Together, we realized that what we had been practicing privately—the unlearning, the permission, the not apologizing, the joy that comes from being fully seen—was something we wanted to offer more widely. Our collaboration is rooted in the community we have built with one another: a place where truth is spoken without pretending, where laughter and sorrow both have room, and where women can arrive exactly as they are.
Reclaim From Within is our shared invitation, shaped by our lived experience, our friendship, and our belief that when women gather with honesty, spaciousness and care, entire worlds begin to shift.

Neha Patel
Co-founder
I am a leadership coach, facilitator, writer, and ancestral strategist who helps leaders become more grounded, more joyful, and more connected to the truth of their own lives. Through my coaching practice with 7Gen Legacy Group, I work with women of color to elevate lived experience as expertise and to step into liberatory leadership.
Whether working in community or global settings, I’ve been committed to creating pathways for women and underrepresented groups to claim power, shape decisions, and lead change. My leadership has been grounded in social justice movements and how to honor humanity, rather than extract from it.
I also write about leadership, culture, love, loss, and ancestral wisdom at The Weave and The Wild. I bring that same depth, spaciousness, and joy to Reclaim From Within, where women are invited to lead from who they really are.

Catherine Kannam
Co-founder
I am a development leader with over 20 years of experience working alongside women and girls across the world, designing programs that strengthen empowerment, deepen social inclusion, and expand belonging for those navigating systems not built for them. From conflict‑affected regions to global policy arenas, one thing kept proving true. When women lead from their lived experience, and their expertise is genuinely elevated, communities transform.
I have mentored emerging young leaders through moments of uncertainty and transition, helping them step back into the parts of themselves they learned to quiet in order to belong. Blending pragmatism with compassion and strategy with deep listening, I create environments where women can show up fully and turn their expertise into impact.
My belief in belonging, power‑shifting, and women leading from their fullness is at the heart of Reclaim From Within.
